Redevelopment update

June 12, 2015

The redevelopment project involves internal refurbishment of the existing main hospital buildings including changes to the physical layout, infrastructure and facilities. In order to renovate the existing building, it is necessary to move services for a period of time.

In March, the Inpatient Ward successfully relocated from level 7 to back level 8 Peter Howson Wing after almost one year. The move went safely and securely and the Ward remained fully operational with 12 overnight patients.

As you can see in the image, the builders are extending the floor plate of levels 1 and 2 Smorgon Family Wing. By extending the floor plates the new hospital structure is starting to take place.
