June 12, 2015

Betty Tellis, Coordinator of Community Engagement and Participation, was the recipient of the I See You, I Hear You – Values in Action staff award last quarter.

Last year, the hospital passed the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards accreditation survey, and received 23 ‘Met with Merit’ ratings. Betty was instrumental in the patient information project which was a major project completed to ensure we passed all the requirements under National Standard 2. As a result, Betty was nominated for ‘her role in the revision of 181 factsheets resulting in a ‘Met with Merit’ during our accreditation’.

Betty says: “Many people contributed to the success of the patient information project. I accept this award on behalf of the dedicated hard work and efforts of the Marketing and Communications team, the clinical leads and content owners who reviewed the information and the consumers who made sure our content is accessible to our patients. It was also an honour to be nominated with others who contributed to such great work to improve the hospital’s services.”
