Cultural Diversity Week
June 6, 2016

Level 1 Outpatients enjoying a culturally diverse team meal
The Eye and Ear celebrated Cultural Diversity Week (12-20 March) by sharing stories on a notice board on the ground floor and encouraging teams to enjoy a culturally diverse meal together.
On Harmony Day, 21 March, volunteers from West Welcome Wagon visited the hospital and explained the great work they do to support asylum seekers who are living on the poverty line. A delicious lunch was provided by the Sorghum Sisters, an initiative developed with the support of Department of Victorian Communities to encourage entrepreneurship in African women.
CEO Mark Petty: “Cultural Diversity Week was a great opportunity to learn, share and embrace culture, faith and language with staff, patients and volunteers.”
