Specialist Clinic Improvements

August 24, 2018

You asked us and we listened. This year we have been busy acting on some of the feedback we have received about the specialist clinic areas in our temporary home at Eye and Ear on the Park.

While we will not be located here forever, it is important that the experience of our patients and staff is as good as possible. Where we can improve, we will always strive to do so.

Some patients told us that crowded and noisy waiting areas made it difficult to hear their name being called for appointments. To help reduce the volume of patients in the waiting room, and therefore reduce noise levels and crowding, we implemented a new practice of only seating patients in the area 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment time. So, if one of our staff or volunteers asks you to head to the café or general waiting areas if you arrive any earlier, it is part of our efforts to improve the experience of all our patients. Please note, arriving earlier will not mean you are seen earlier.

We also installed new carpet and a fresh lick of paint to the waiting areas, and some consulting rooms. This helps our “outsides match our insides,” so specialists can deliver world class care from a refreshed environment.

To raise awareness of the changes we implement, we will be putting up posters in specialist clinics detailing these changes.

We value your feedback, it allows us to continually improve – you can complete a feedback form (displayed around the hospital), email feedback@eyeandear.org.au or leave your feedback on our Facebook page.
