Volunteer profile: Colm

September 14, 2015

A semi-retired electrical engineer, Colm O’Donovan donates some of his spare time to the Eye and Ear as a volunteer.

Friendly and bubbly, Colm, recently joined our volunteer team – helping out on the Concierge Desk, in the Emergency Department as well as in the Outpatient Clinics.

Colm knows and understands what it is like to be a patient at the Eye and Ear; in 2007 he had cataract surgery by Dr Peter Meagher.

When attending a Volunteer Expo recently, Colm noticed that the Eye and Ear was looking for volunteers. His past connection with the hospital prompted him to put his name down, and since then he has thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the team.

Colm is a keen golfer and enjoys a chat.
