Community fundraising

Nine-year-old Lily Cannon is proof that you’re never too young to show philanthropic spirit.

Lily’s uncle has an ocular melanoma and is receiving treatment at the Eye and Ear. At the moment his cancer is not advancing.

Lily, who is in Grade 3, was inspired to hold a fundraiser for the hospital and approached her headmaster at St Joseph’s Primary School in Warrnambool. Lily joined the Grade 6 students in their fundraising project and was the youngest student involved.

With help from mum Stephanie, Lily made 140 chocolate crackles. She sold all of them and donated all the funds to the hospital. The hospital is grateful to Lily, Stephanie and the school community for their support.
