Redevelopment update

In February, the Minister for Health Jill Hennessy toured the new Emergency Department where she announced an additional $31.4 million towards the Redevelopment Project.

Eye and Ear CEO Mark Petty says thanks to the additional funding, we will be able to continue redeveloping the Eye and Ear into a world-class facility.

“This Redevelopment Project is part of our commitment to improving access for patients and to better meet the demand for our speciality services in Victoria,” Mark said.

The newly designed Emergency Department, which is almost complete, is one of the key milestones in the project. The redevelopment will see partial demolition of existing buildings and the construction of a new connecting building with five, fully integrated levels.

The project is expected to be complete in 2018.
