Mrs Dorothy Nowell woke up one morning in July 1987 and realised she had lost vision in her right eye. She attended the Eye and Ear and was seen by one of our young ophthalmologists Anne Brooks (who is now an Associate Professor and previous Chair of the Senior Medical Staff).

Mrs Nowell was so grateful for the care she received at the Eye and Ear and she has been a regular donor ever since. During her journey with the Eye and Ear she also decided to become a bequestor and leave money in her Will. Recently, Mrs Nowell decided to bring forward her bequest and donate while she is still living. We are truly grateful to Mrs Nowell and so pleased that we can thank her now for her support of eye research.

Mrs Nowell supports eight charities and is involved in her local community. She is also a keen piano and organ player.
