Staff honoured for patient care excellence Ann Clark congratulates Patricia Flanagan and Edwina Rolls

Congratulations to the staff members recognised as part of the Eye and Ear I See You, I Hear You – Values in Action awards last week. The award recognises staff, teams and volunteers who put the hospital's values into action every day through their work to enhance patients’ lives.

Chief Executive Officer, Ann Clark announced winners from the November 2012 and February 2013 quarters, recognising excellence within the hospital's Emergency Department in recent months.

Emergency Department nurses Melissa Stewart, Edwina Rolls, Patricia Flanagan and Dr Emily Gregory-Roberts, received the November quarter award after a grateful patient nominated the team.  The patient, treated in October last year, wished to recognise the team for their “efficiency”, “professionalism” and “high level of care” at a time when he felt highly distressed and anxious.

The Emergency Department was again recognised for their February quarter performance, with Renita Antonio accepting the award on behalf of the team.

“During this time the team demonstrated teamwork, care, integrity and excellence and for rising to the challenge in the face of change.

"The department has demonstrated this as evidenced by the consistent improvement in meeting targets, in spite of various changes within the hospital,” said Ms Clark.
