There are exceptional opportunities for Medical Staff at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. As a teaching and training hospital, we work in an environment of excellence.

Our ophthalmology training program is competitive and unrivalled. We are accredited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) to run the five year Ophthalmology Training program and take a collegial approach to training our multidisciplinary team.  We are also accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM), and the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA).

Senior Medical Staff are heavily involved in teaching and supporting our doctors through training and education and are involved in weekly lectures in ENT, Ophthalmology and Emergency Medicine and host undergraduate students from the St. Vincent’s Clinical School in ENT and Eye Clinics.

The Eye and Ear promotes research with our partners and collaborators such as the, Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA), University of Melbourne Department of Otolaryngology, The HEARing CRC and the
Bionics Institute.
