Health Professionals
For GP's and other referrers
At the Eye and Ear, we have enjoyed a long-standing and valued relationship with Victoria’s General Practitioners, going back almost 150 years. Many GPs have completed electives in our hospital as students. As our services have become more specialised, with greater reach, we have a GP Liaison Officer to help make communication between the hospital and local GPs as easy and effective as possible. To contact our GP Liaison Officer, email gpliaison@eyeandear.org.au.
We have some useful contacts and phone numbers for GPs seeking information about their patients’ status on the surgical waiting list and outpatient appointment waiting list and to request letters about patients seen at the hospital. Please download our quick reference guide for more contact details and more information.
Emergency over the phone advice for GPs can be obtained by telephoning the hospital switchboard on (03) 9929 8666 and asking for the Eye or ENT admitting officer.
