The Chairman of the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital’s Board of Directors, Professor Graeme Ryan, today announced the appointment of Ms Ann Clark as the new Chief Executive Officer.
Ms Clark comes to the Eye and Ear from her role as Executive Director, Corporate Services at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH).
Professor Graeme Ryan said in her current role, Ms Clark provided leadership in negotiations with the Department of Human Services and was executive sponsor of the RCH Building our Future Change Program.
"Ms Clark has had major hands on experience in leading change in a complex, clinically driven environment during planning for the redevelopment of the new RCH facilities at Parkville. Ms Clark is well placed to provide excellent leadership as the Eye and Ear works towards redevelopment."
"In addition, Ms Clark has been at the forefront of enhancing relationships with research and teaching partners and integrating clinical and non clinical aspects of the hospital."
Ms Clark comes from a financial background as a chartered accountant and has held senior leadership positions and consulting roles across a range of private and public sector organisations. Ms Clark has also acted as CEO of the Royal Children’s Hospital on a number of occasions.
In making the announcement, Professor Ryan recognised the significant contribution of Graeme Houghton who has been CEO of the Eye and Ear since 2002 and has led the hospital in the processes leading up to redevelopment.
"Ms Clark is a worthy successor to Graeme Houghton, bringing the experience and skills necessary to provide excellent leadership for the Eye and Ear in our future challenges."
