Transport Services
The Transport Services (East Melbourne, Broadmeadows & Lilydale spokes) can assist in co-ordinating patient transport for outpatient clinic appointments and discharges on medical grounds. The transport system extends state wide to all Eye and Ear Hospital public patients. A limited service of transport co-ordination exists for private patients of the Eye and Ear Hospital, though costs are not carried by the hospital.
There are a number of non-emergency transport options available to patients. Criteria must be met to enable eligibility for transport. The office operates from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. The Transport & Accommodation Co-ordinator can be contacted on 9929-8635 or page 273.
Accommodation Services
Accommodation for country patient, relatives and carers can be arranged when attending the Eye and Ear Hospital. All accommodation venues are within a 5km radius of the Eye and Ear Hospital and operate independently. Accommodation can be arranged by contacting the Transport & Accommodation Co-ordinator on 9929-8635 pg. 273 during business hours.
