Calling for community advisorsThe Southern Hemisphere’s only specialist eye and ear hospital is seeking members of the Victorian community to join its Community Advisory Committee for a two year appointment. Graeme Houghton, the Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, says it is important that members of the community are involved in advising the Hospital on community and consumer issues relating to the provision of healthcare services. “We recognise that working with consumers equips us to provide a more responsive service that better meets the eye, ear, nose and throat health needs of the Victorian community. I encourage interested people to contact us and get involved in helping the Hospital deliver high quality care and services.” The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) provides advice to the Hospital Board from a community point of view on: · Consumer and community participation · Service planning and delivery · Advocacy and priority community issues You will need to attend 6 meetings a year during business hours and be prepared to give some time in between meetings to help progress our work. In return we will pay for reasonable expenses, and offer you support and development opportunities in your new role. This is a voluntary, unpaid position. You don’t need any particular skills or qualifications to join the committee, you just need a desire to help your community. You will be assisting our hospital in recommending changes that will positively affect the community. The Information and Application Package will help interested individuals put together their nomination. Applications close on Monday 17 December, 2007. For any queries please contact Kellie Michel, Community Development Officer, on 9929 8598 or kellie.michel@eyeandear.org.au |
